JULY 2026 BOARD MINUTES
June Bored Meeting
BBL Clubhouse
Meeting started at 7:15 with a toast
Attendees: Bryan E, Andy M, Ray G, Jeff M. Keith P, along with guests Tracy, Jen, Emmanuel and Jackie.
Refrigerated Trailer Search (Beer and Sweat)
Original source fell through; actively sourcing alternatives
Leads in progress:
Jerry following up with a vendor (no response yet; calling tomorrow if needed)
Andy pursuing Third Eye / Lance
Home City Ice: does not offer on-site freezer trucks
Cincy Tool Rental: no leads
Penske 16-ft refrigerated truck: ~$171/day + $0.36/mile (pickup required; past all-in cost was ~$500)
Estonia (NKY/Sharonville): previously delivered to Marriott; worth revisiting
Brian to post general callout to local breweries
Hotel cooler space: Brian and Andy each reaching out, but likely sized for commercial use only
Fallback: no fallback acceptable; “failure is not an option”
Beer and Sweat Finances and Glasses
~$XXX on hand (PayPal + check)
Room to spend on reefer truck if needed
Glasses confirmed: 6.5 oz stemless wine glass style
~$325 product + $185 shipping = ~$510–520 total
Design finalized
Blue colorway chosen (Sam Adams sponsor compatibility)
Sponsorships and Promotion
BSG donation form no longer on website; Brian calling them tomorrow
Party Source confirmed as sponsor this year
Sponsor hesitancy noted: money tighter this year; some (e.g. West Side) now do pint nights instead of direct donations
Brian to assign specific follow-up contacts to board members rather than general callout
Promotion activity:
Basic Brewing Radio interview drops July 15th
Second Cincy Brew Dads porch review coming; planning to bring Lee’s beer, Owen’s mead, and a summer-friendly homebrew
Andy hitting Indiana Brewers Cup this weekend; will distribute stickers and flyers
Fermentation Frenzy (early August) also a target
Reddit post planned
One radio station accepts 15-second event previews
Cincy Brew Dads 1-year anniversary: Saturday, Third Eye Sharonville, 4pm
Medals, Judge Gifts, and Food
Medals: ~30 Bloatarian tap handles remaining; plan to pair with plaques for first place
Judge gifts:
Bar towels from last year were a hit and cheap; likely to repeat
lid covers also discussed (3D printed or clear acrylic with reverse-printed logo); Andy to explore pricing
If lid covers are too expensive or late, default back to bar towels
Food: more pizza, fewer sandwiches; Mario and Amy returning to manage food and door
Get 1–2 vegetarian pizza options; minimal salad (too much last year)
Amy to be briefed on legacy member access list
July Club Meeting and Bloat Open
July meeting topic: Beer and Sweat primer for new members (third Friday, 7pm, socialize until ~7:45)
Tracy and Jackie welcome to attend for context before the event
Bloat Open recap: lower entries this year (intentional, aimed at newer members); Lee’s Imperial style was a standout
Esoteric leader brewing planned for Sept/Oct for year-end readiness
Bloat Open venue for next year: strong preference to hold at the clubhouse
Easier logistics, free parking, no imposition on Monique/Brian’s space
Brian has expressed wanting to give back; could invite them to attend rather than host
Upcoming Socials and Club Business
July social options: Fibonacci (new owners, home brewer), Melatone, Northern Row, MPH, Little Miami, Saunder
Fibonacci patio favored for summer; Wooden Cask already counted as a social
July 29 proposed: “Remembering Mike” Fiertag night (anniversary of his passing)
Membership: ~40 paid online, estimated ~45 total
Must submit membership list to AHA before Beer and Sweat (insurance discount requires 75% AHA overlap)
Club apparel: digitizing done; Keith sending item list to vendor in next day or two; hoping ready for Beer and Sweat
T-shirt pre-orders: Brian to finalize design with Mario this week; pre-orders to open
Daniel (messenger/judge) to be re-contacted about Beer and Sweat
